The current geopolitical context in the Middle East continues to have major repercussions on the professional events sector. Informa, the organiser of the renowned Middle East Energy (MEE) exhibition in Dubai, has officially announced the postponement of its 2026 edition.
New dates to ensure safety and organisation :
Originally scheduled for 7-9 April, this major gathering for global energy players will finally take place from 1 to 3 September 2026, still at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This shift is part of a wave of adjustments affecting several major exhibitions in the Middle East, put under pressure by the current crisis. The primary objective is to guarantee the safety of all attendees, while giving international exhibitors and visitors more time to reorganise their travel and logistics.
A primarily human decision :
The official message highlights the profoundly human dimension behind this decision: "Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this conflict and we sincerely hope that during this time, everyone will remain safe." It is also made clear that holding the event on these new dates remains strictly dependent on an overall improvement in the situation on the ground.
Maintaining an ambitious 50th edition :
Despite this climate of uncertainty, Middle East Energy maintains high ambitions for its 50th edition. With over 1,900 exhibitors and 45,000 visitors expected, this strategic postponement aims to preserve the commercial value of this essential event for the energy transition.
